Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied met while working together on the Black Swan.
Millepied is a French dancer and choreographer who has lived in the United States since joining the New York City Ballet in 1995. It was there he became a soloist in 1998 and a principal dancer in 2002.
They began dating in 2009 and on August 4, 2012, they got married in a Jewish ceremony held in Big Sur, California.
The family lived in Paris for some time, after Millepied accepted the position of director of dance with the Paris Opera Ballet.
They have two children together; a son Aleph, who was born in 2011, and a daughter named Amalia who was born in 2017. As of 2016, the family resides in Los Angeles.
In 2014, Millepied announced that he was in the process of converting to Judaism, which is his wife’s faith.
