Barry Kobrin… Where to begin…. What do you even say about a man of 1,000 words. Probably more like a million words. The endless stories, the tireless non stop jokes, and the most contagious laugh. Such a wonderful human being. For a 1/3 of my life I had the honor and the privilege of serving next to this Hero. Most of this reign answering to him as he served as my chief for most of my years in the Fire Service. A lot of what I know about the fire service is a huge thank you to this man. His push, drive, and support with not only me but many of my brothers and sisters beside me proved to be nothing but successful. A great man, husband, father, mentor and most of all a one of a kind friendship. The community has taken such a tremendous loss. A true hero to many. The calls, stories, trips, and unforgettable experiences shared together will never be forgotten. Stories to be told for many years to come. Thank you for your service, kind generosity, and extensive knowledge. It was a true honor to have served along side you. Condolences to the Kobrin family. To the many friends and agencies that have been impacted by this loss. Condolences to my Rapids Fire Co family. May we carry on this man’s legacy for years to come. You will be greatly missed by many. Rest easy Chief. Until we meet again.
