Two of the three young women killed in a car crash that occurred late on Saturday night in Scott County, Missouri, have been identified as Mallory Carter, from Brighton, Illinois, and Audrey Smith, from Bridgeton, Missouri. The deceased has been named as 20-year-old Andrew Marzuco from Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.
Marzuco, 19, and two other passengers, Carter, 19, and Smith, 20, were killed in a single-vehicle crash near Benton on Saturday night. At least three other young women were hurt.
Apparently, on Saturday night at 7 o’clock, Carter was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck near Benton on Interstate 55 with Smith and Marzuco as passengers when they crashed while swerving to avoid an animal. As it veered off the road, the car crashed into a tree.
The coroner ruled that Carter, Smith, and Marzuco all died from blunt force trauma.
Two women, one from Ste. Genevieve (age 20) and the other from Chesterfield (age 24), were injured, though only slightly. The St. Louis woman, age 22, sustained moderate injuries. Their current conditions are unknown as they were all taken to local hospitals.
They haven’t figured out what caused the crash yet.
