Missing Harold Hoyt Who Went Missing In Sullivan County Found Dead

A 35-year-old man who vanished more than a week ago after last being seen in the area getting a flat tire has been discovered dead.

After his pickup developed a flat tire, became stuck, and ran out of gas in Sullivan County close to the Camp Turrell Boy Scout Reservation on Galligan Road in the town of Forestburgh, Harold Hoyt was reported missing by a friend on Friday, March 31.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office reported that Hoyt’s friend managed to reach a nearby road, but Hoyt reportedly got lost in the woods.

Search and rescue personnel were directed to a “search grid” in a marsh where Harold Hoyt’s cell was located after a thorough search that included the use of ATVs, UTVs, drones, K-9 teams, and a state police helicopter.

The Sheriff’s Office announced that Hoyt had been located at around 3:30 on Friday. Alan Kesten, the coroner for Sullivan County, declared him dead.

Hoyt’s body was taken to the morgue pending an autopsy after the incident was investigated by the State Police Forensic Investigation Unit.

Hoyt and his girlfriend resided in the Sullivan County hamlet of Glen Spey.

The family is going through a very terrible period, according to Sullivan County Sheriff Mike Schiff. They carefully awaited any updates at the scene for the entire time. It unfortunately came to a sad conclusion.
